Bid Writing Process Explained | Executive Compass

So, the process we take is each client is assigned a bid writer, and the bid writer then goes
through the tender documents, gets a good understanding
of what’s required and also looks at what the
mandatory criteria are, for example, if there’s a
minimum turnover threshold, and we then make the client
aware of these criteria. Following that, we draw up a answer plan, which allows us to gather
information from the client. Once we’ve developed an answer plan, we then arrange a series
of telephone calls with the client to gather the
information for the responses. We then draft the responses, and the writer assesses them
against a scoring criteria. And, following that,
they are quality assessed by our internal technical writer. We then take in any amendments, and then they go to our
in-house proofreader. We then send them across
to the client in batches so they’re not overwhelmed
with all the responses at once. The client then reviews our
responses and feeds back to us, and we take in any
amendments that they ask for. And there’s a iterative process whereby we take in amendments until the client is happy with the finished responses, and then we can assist them
with uploading onto the portal and submitting the response.
